We, I mean Laura and I, try our best to do “date night” on Saturday night after the Small Town Movie Watcher, Kids go to sleep. You know, “date night”? That opportunity for couples to continue to connect and not become distant. Since we are stuck with each other for the rest of our lives (seriously, the rest, not this “until I’m tired of this person”).
Our date nights are not spectacular, we are not heading out for a night on the town, we’re not getting the babysitter (like maybe 3 times in 7 years). We try to do date night with a movie on our big screen and with some tasty comestibles; maybe some meat and cheese, or something sweet, or maybe just some popcorn. Our time together doesn’t need to have all of the higher things in life, it needs her and me, and to bring those tasty comestibles back.
This night we got to take in the latest Tom Hanks movie, A Hologram for a King, which is one of four movies for 2016. This man is still busy busy busy. We’ve sat through some yawners of Tom Hank’s films, but not every movie needs to be grand slam (though a lot of his are), but by golly, I’m pretty certain that we would watch Tom Hanks wrestle a wet paper sack. I’m pretty certain that that man is a gift to us all as an actor.
However, this is up to you, it is your decision if this is going to be a movie that you are going to get lost in.
